Uncertainty Management and RTM Simulation: New Advances for Aerospace Composites
IRT Jules Verne has recently delivered significant progress within the European UPBEAT Project, strengthening the project’s work on uncertainty management and RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) simulation for aerospace composite components. As leader of WP5, the team is developing and applying advanced modelling approaches to better understand and control variability in composite manufacturing. The latest project update highlights new results from WP3 and WP5, including the integration of the innovative AK‑AHDMR method and the first full RTM process simulation of GKN Aerospace’s outlet guide vane. These achievements mark an important step toward more reliable, predictable, and efficient composite production for aerospace applications.
🎥 The new video presents these developments in detail, showcasing how uncertainty‑management strategies and high‑fidelity simulations are being combined to support next‑generation manufacturing.
This work was presented during the UPBEAT General Assembly held in Clermont‑Ferrand in April 2026, where partners gathered to review progress and align on upcoming milestones.
